Created at VTPRO Design, this project formed part of Netflix’s Wednesday House; an immersive, location-based experience designed to bring the world of the series into physical space through interactive sets and responsive environments.
Netflix Houses are experiential destinations that transform iconic shows into walk-through worlds. Rather than passive exhibitions, they are designed to react to visitors in real time, blending scenography, technology, and storytelling to create fully embodied encounters with the IP.
For Wednesday House, the role within the VTPRO Design team twas o develop sculptural set pieces that functioned as living characters within the space.
The role involved sculpting and developing a series of interactive set pieces as part of the VTPRO Design team for the Wednesday House Netflix experience. The work focused on translating recognisable characters and environments from the show into physical, fabrication-ready assets that could function within an immersive, sensor-driven installation.
The work involved end-to-end digital sculpting in ZBrush, with close consideration for scale, material behaviour, and 3D printing constraints. Models were delivered to the fabrication team as print-ready files, alongside visual references and surface direction. To support production and client sign-off, the role also involved creating presentation renders from multiple angles and developing test paint and texture treatments in Substance Painter.
These sculptural elements were designed to integrate with interactive systems throughout the space, including a Venus flytrap that rotated to follow visitor movement and mushroom forms that responded with dynamic lighting, helping transform static set design into a responsive, experiential environment.
A cluster of oversized mushrooms designed as both scenic elements and interactive light sources. The sculptures illuminated in shifting colors, reacting to movement and contributing to the evolving mood of the space.
A character-inspired sculpt designed to track and follow visitors as they moved through the environment. The piece reinforced the unsettling, sentient atmosphere of the show by responding directly to audience presence.
